Duplicate content – don’t fall into the trap when marketing
Online marketing is essential if you want your website to perform well. There are several different ways in which you can do online marketing such as SEO, Pay per Click, Social Media marketing and link building.
SEO can help push any website up the rankings on the search engines such as Google and there are tips and tricks to help you achieve optimum results. The search engines like to see fresh relevant content on websites and therefore if you leave your website to go stale, you will probably find that you drop down the rankings for your top search terms. The information on your site should be relevant but also needs to be accurate so if you have changed your prices or the products you offer this should be reflected on your website
Many businesses don’t’ fully understand what Google is looking for and therefore may add information that is not going to help their rankings or is not improving the customer’s experience. Duplicate content is a big no no in the eyes of the search engines such as Google.
Copying content straight from another website without adding anything to it could be seen as spamming and therefore Google may not list that page in the search results. You may find that if you do it too much your whole site will be removed from the search engine listings or heavily demoted.
