Search Engine Optimisation verses visitor experience
Every online marketing expert will tell you that SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) is an essential part of marketing and needs to be done in order to get your website to rank well organically.
If you ask any SEO expert, they will say one of the biggest challenges they face when it comes to SEO is with the client. Many clients simply don’t understand exactly how SEO works and therefore cannot appreciate why certain things need to be done in a particular way.
SEO if done full force, may mean the site is not as user friendly as it could be as often you are trying to get certain keywords in on pages and titles to rank well for your phrases. It is a constant balance between SEO and visitor experience, and it is important to ensure that both compliment each other. There is no point in getting your site to the top of Google, if visitors want to leave as soon as they land in it.
If SEO is carried out correctly then there is no need for it to be detrimental to the actual user experience. Google says that it will rank sites highest that offer the best experience to its visitors.
